Learning Center: Mentors

The Bepko Learning Center is one of the fastest growing active learning programs at IUPUI. It is an attentive hands-on service provided by students for students. Student mentors are extremely passionate about the center in terms of its intellectual success for the student. The Bepko Learning Center magnifies the impact and value of ideas and efforts when students work together. With this type of partnership, better decisions are made and academics improve.

Peer Mentors

• are students who have been successful in specific courses and have been recommended by the faculty to serve as peer mentors.
• are not tutors, but rather facilitators who can help students develop the thinking and reasoning skills which characterize intellectual maturity.
• are learning assistants who are content-competent in a particular subject and can assist students in gaining a better understanding of course material.
• are empathetic listeners, resource guides, and most of all supportive friends.
